At sunrise set out for a game drive in the park which will provide the most number of animal sightings and the best chance to catch the elusive nocturnal animals and the cats which are still very active hunting,  such as  Lions, Hyena, Leopard, and Jackal. Other animals to see include Giraffes, Elephants, Buffaloes, Warthogs, Pattas Monkeys, and many Antelope species such as Kob, Oribi, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Waterbuck, Bushbuck, etc.. Birding is at its best with so many savanna species and water birds along the delta point! The Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, a male and female strolling through the savanna tracks, is almost an iconic sight on this safari! After close to 4 hours on the game drive you return to the lodge for breakfast. After lunch you will go out for the boat cruise on the Nile that departs from Paraa down to the bottom of the Murchison Falls. The 2 hour cruise offers plenty of wildlife spotting including Hippos, Crocodiles, and many other animals which come to drink and graze along the banks. At the bottom of the Murchison Falls you will leave the boat and join a waiting ranger for a hike around the falls. It is a spectacular view as the entire Nile squeezes through a tiny space about 7 meters between the rocks emerging with an explosion and falling 43 meters into the whirlpool. At the top you will find the tour driver and leave for Kaniyo Pabidi, Budongo Forest, home of the Chimpanzees in Murchison Falls National Park. Dinner and overnight at Budongo Eco Lodge

Day 3 – chimpanzee tracking in Budong Forest in the south of Murchison Falls Park

Have early breakfast and meet the ranger guides at Budongo Eco Lodge. Chimpanzee tracking and other activities in the Kaniyo Pabidi area of Budongo Forest all set out from Budongo Eco Lodge which also serves as the visitors’ information center. Head out into the territory of the habituated Kaniyo Pabidi Chimpanzee group. Normally a one hour trek if the Chimps are within, and they can actually be heard from the lodge, however during some time in the year when they finished the food here they will move deeper into the forest to look for more, hence the trek to find them will be longer.
