David Sande (Founder)

Here I was at the peak of Mt. Bisoke (3711m) Volcanoes National Park Rwanda, standing at the rim of the Crater Lake when suddenly the clouds started dropping into the Lake, treating me to a spectacular ‘cloud – lake’ experience. One of my favorite nature moments!

I am David, the founder of Nature Trails East Africa. I joined the tour and travel fraternity in 2010 soon after completing university. I worked for one of the premier tour companies in Uganda (African Adventure Travellers), first as an I.T & Reservations assistant before taking on the Tour Operations giving me the profound opportunity to discover my passion for adventure and nature!

Through my travels that entailed visiting different tourist destinations in Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, I was able to discover the remarkable natural beauty and diversity that our lands are blessed with. I gained broad knowledge of wildlife, especially birds that I am so fascinated by. My passion for nature, wide travels and knowledge inspired the idea of a company that is keener on nature and eco-tourism.

I am a keen birdwatcher and hiking enthusiast.

I am an active member of the Uganda Bird Guides ClubUganda Safari Guides Association (USAGA)Mountain Club of Uganda and NatureUganda – the prime conservation body of Uganda.
