Bubbles can be seen at this spot indicating a flow from underground, which is then joined by water flowing from Lake Victoria. According to ancient explorer, John Speke, this spot contributes up to 30% of the Nile waters which is believed to be the highest contribution of all the water sources of River Nile. Other water is contributed by numerous lakes and rivers. Next to the source is a tiny island that accommodates some wildlife including Monitor Lizards and water birds such as Cormorants, Kingfishers and Egrets. There are some craft shops at the tiny island where you may buy some souvenirs.
