Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest National Park and back to Kampala

After early breakfast, transfer to the visitors’ center at 7.00am, meet the rangers for briefing after which you set off the chimps trek in Kibale forest. While trekking through the awe-inspiring rainforest you get to observe plenty of wildlife, including a number of monkey species, birds and trees. The terrain is relatively flat and thus involves a relatively easy trek to find the chimps whose screams will be heard from a distance. When you reach the chimps you will spend an hour observing them and following them in the forest. The chimps swing through the trees with a lot of speed while panthooting, slapping the tree barks that sounds like thunder, and screaming that is defeaning; done to locate each other in the large territory – it is quite a hair raising atmosphere and a memorable experience. After chimps experience return to meet your driver and transfer to the lodge to refresh and thereafter checkout and leave for Kampala, arriving in the evening.
