4 days Akagera safari and Uganda gorillas tour

This is a quick trip offers a short safari in Akagera National Park Rwanda to see animals and experience the beautiful savannah before traveling to Uganda for affordable gorilla trekking adventure and experience the breathtaking mountain scenery. This is a rushed trip which you can choose to slow down with extra day before the gorilla tour in Uganda.

Trip itinerary

Day 1 – Pick up from Kigali and travel to Akagera National Park, game drive and boat safari

Your tour guide shall pick you at 7am and start your trip to Akagera National Park in eastern Rwanda. This will be a 2.5 hour drive. On arrival you shall do a short game drive in the park of about 2 hours to see some animals. You will then continue to the lodge and have lunch. At 3pm you shall go for the boat ride on Lake Ihema which is the largest lake in Akagera National Park. You see water animals such as hippos and crocodiles plus other wildlife along the shores of the lake. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 – Full game drive and transfer to Kisoro in southern Uganda

After early breakfast you shall check out by 6.30am and start off the full game drive through the park. You shall drive the whole length of the park from the south to the north going different habitats and landscapes and sighting a variety of animals and birds. You will exit the park and head to northern Rwanda and enter Uganda overnight at Lake Mulehe or Lake Mutanda which is beautifully set in the rolling highlands.

Day 3 – gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park

Today you shall have early breakfast and travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park the home of the mountain gorillas. You will be assigned to one of the habituated gorilla groups and set off into Bwindi jungle to look for the gorillas. After the gorilla trekking adventure you spend the rest of the day relaxing at the lodge

Day 4 – transfer back to Kigali

After breakfast you shall check out and travel back to Kigali
